Thanks Giving or Thanks Taking?

I AM...
Is
giving thanks everyday...Someone please tell me, why continue supporting a system that tells u when giving of thanks should be? Why do u allow your children 2 continue a cycle that says "Santa Claus is on the way"? (When u've worked hard all year long to provide gifts for them, just to give credit to some (big, fat,)    man
with a beard? Do u know HisStory behind them both? Let's not forget....
The System is not designed to win!

Until approximately 1629, there were only about 300 Puritans living in widely scattered settlements around New England. As word leaked back to England about their peaceful and prosperous life, more Puritans arrived by the boatloads. As the ...numbers of Puritans grew, the question of ownership of the land became a major issue. The Puritans came from the belief of individual needs and prosperity, and had no concept of tribal living or group sharing. It was clear that these heathen savages had no claim on the land because it had never been subdued, cultivated and farmed in the European manner, and there were no fences or other boundaries marked. The land was clearly "public domain", and there for the taking. This attitude met with great resistance from the original Puritans who held their Native benefactors in high regard. These first Puritan settlers were summarily excommunicated and expelled from the church.

With Bible passages in their hands to justify their every move, the Puritans began their march inland from the seaside communities. Joined by British settlers, they seized land, took the strong and young Natives as slaves to work the land, and killed the rest. When they reached the Connecticut Valley around 1633, they met a different type of force. The Pequot Nation, very large and very powerful, had never entered into the peace treaty negotiated by Squanto as had other New England Native nations. When 2 slave raiders were killed by resisting Natives, the Puritans demanded that the killers be turned over. The Pequot refused. What followed was the Pequot War, the bloodiest of the Native wars in the northeast.

An army of over 200 settlers was formed, joined by over 1,000 Narragansett warriors. Because of the lack of fighting experience, and the vast numbers of the fierce Pequot warriors, Commander John Mason elected not to stage an open battle. Instead, the Pequot were attacked, one village at a time, in the hours before dawn. Each village was set on fire with its sleeping Natives burned alive. Women and children over 14 were captured to be sold as slaves; other survivors were massacred. The Natives were sold into slavery in The West Indies, the Azures, Spain, Algiers and England; everywhere the Puritan merchants traded. The slave trade was so lucrative that boatloads of 500 at a time left the harbors of New England.

In 1641, the Dutch governor of Manhattan offered the first scalp bounty; a common practice in many European countries. This was broadened by the Puritans to include a bounty for Natives fit to be sold for slavery. The Dutch and Puritans joined forces to exterminate all Natives from New England, and village after village fell. Following an especially successful raid against the Pequot in what is now Stanford, Connecticut, the churches of Manhattan announced a day of "thanksgiving" to celebrate victory over the savages. This was the 2nd Thanksgiving. During the feasting, the hacked off heads of Natives were kicked through the streets of Manhattan like soccer balls.

The killing took on a frenzy, with days of thanksgiving being held after each successful massacre. Even the friendly Wampanoag did not escape. Their chief was beheaded, and his head placed on a pole in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where it remained for 24 years. Each town held thanksgiving days to celebrate their own victories over the Natives until it became clear that there needed to be an order to these special occasions. It was George Washington who finally brought a system and a schedule to thanksgiving when he declared one day to be celebrated across the nation as Thanksgiving Day.

Woman as Goddess and Creatrix

THE FEMININE PRINCIPLE OR THE ESSENCE OF WOMAN

The Woman is, was, and always will be Goddess and Creatrix. The woman is the womb from which we sprang, the ground of our being. The woman is the source for all humans. The Goddess is both historical, psychological and primary. She has been a persistent symbol of divinity since the beginning of time, and remains a sacred presence in the timeless dimension of everyone's psyche. Even the womb of the woman is composed of the same substances as the fruit of the Earth.
The Woman is the feminized 'mother nature'. The Woman as Creatrix has a mysterious power over her offspring. Some psychologists have called it 'Weaned Worship'. It is an unquestionable fact that reverence for the Woman as a Creatrix, and all of the transition she goes through in the process of creating, is revered. Furthermore, as a creatrix, the Woman addresses the inescapable challenge to man to justify his existence. The mother gives birth to men out of her body ensuring that there is at least a definite and significant contribution that she can make on an ongoing basis throughout most of her life.

Men respond to this challenge by simulating creation by making objects and inventing artifacts. If this is not monitored accordingly, they can wage a war between Creatrix and Creator (female and male) which is very much present today. Many psychologists have stated that much of the meaning men attribute to their work is a response to the challenge of women's capacity to give life and to sustain that life completely through natural means.

Candice, Queen of the Ethiopians By Louis Rushmore

fountain pen

"And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet" (Acts 8:26-28)

The name "Candace" appears but once in the Bible (Acts 8:27). However, Ethiopia is mentioned by that name 20 times in the Bible, as well as otherwise referenced (e.g., Cush). Ethiopia, like other formerly obscure deceased empires that interacted with God's people, deserves some exposure to the student of Holy Writ.

Historically, kings rather than queens usually ruled kingdoms in antiquity. Typically, men ascended to thrones, led armies and were warriors. However, two notable exceptions ascribing regal rule to women appear both in the Bible and in secular history. "In the New Testament we read of the 'queen of the south,' i.e., Southern Arabia, Sheba (Matt. 12:42; Luke 11:31) and the 'queen of the Ethiopians' (Acts 8:27), Candace."  Further, the Ethiopian queen also waged wars, leading armies into battle, which armies were in part comprised of female warriors. "Ethiopian monuments singularly confirm the prominence given to females as queens and armed warriors…"  "Candace, Queen of the Ethiopians. CANDACE [KAN duh see] (Queen or ruler of children)-a queen of Ethiopia (Acts 8:27). The king of Ethiopia was thought to be the child of the sun and therefore too sacred to exercise the actual functions of governing. The queen mother, who was called Candace, exercised the rule. Many secular monuments speak of the high honor paid to women in Ethiopia, and Candace. One of the pyramids of Meroe was Candace's-her picture can still be seen at Kaga-and to her belonged the wonderful treasure of jewelry found in 1834 by Ferlini and now in the Berlin museum.  ETHIOPIA; CUSH Named Cush in the Hebrew Bible and Cash in the Egyptian sources, Ethiopia is first mentioned in Genesis (2:13) as the land encompassed by the River Gihon, which flowed from the Garden of Eden. Situated in the Nile Valley between the second and the fourth cataracts, it was identified from early times as Nubia.  "Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia" (Isaiah 18:1). "From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering" (Zephaniah 3:10). Isa 18:1 Which (is) beyond the rivers of Ethiopia. Meroe, the island between the "rivers" Nile and Astaboras is meant, famed for its commerce, and perhaps the seat of the Ethiopian government, hence addressed here as representing the whole empire.  Ethiopia -- country of burnt faces; the Greek word by which the Hebrew Cush is rendered (Gen. 2:13; 2 Kings 19:9; Esther 1:1; Job 28:19; Ps. 68:31; 87:4), a country which lay to the south of Egypt, beginning at Syene on the First Cataract (Ezek. 29:10; 30:6), and extending to beyond the confluence of the White and Blue Nile. It corresponds generally with what is now known as the Soudan (i.e., the land of the blacks). Ethiopia is spoken of in prophecy (Ps. 68:31; 87:4; Isa. 45:14; Ezek. 30:49; Dan. 11:43; Nah. 3:8-10; Hab. 3:7; Zeph. 2:12). Meroe, where George Reisner identified pyramid tombs of reigning Candaces of Ethiopia constructed from c. 300 b.c. to a.d. 300. However, that the Jewish prophets (such as Isaiah) addressed Ethiopia as a contemporary country dates the nation back even father to at least 700 B.C.

In conclusion, "Candace" is an utterly meaningless term to the Bible reader, until he discovers her identity. At best, the casual Bible pupil will incorrectly assign biblical references concerning Ethiopia to a contemporary nation by the same name, until he learns better. Biblical references to Candace and Ethiopia will seem inconsequential, until one realizes that they represent a real chapter in human history and that God's people and others with whom God's people interacted are recorded on the pages of that chapter.

The background lying behind Acts 8:26-28 when brought to light makes the study of that passage more rewarding.

I RESPECT THE HEART, MIND, & SOUL OF MY FRIENDS & LOVER...

A relationship is placing one's heart and soul in the hands of another while taking charge of another in one's soul and heart.
-Kahlil Gibran

When we enter a relationship, we don't often think or see beyond the physical being. We are attracted to the body, face, or personality. We may like what the person does or how they do it and want to be a part of that. We may even experience a pull from within that we can't actually explain. But how often do we stop to consider the true depth of the person we are attracted to? There is a being before us who has a past, present, and future. There is flesh and bones, hurts and scars, feelings, thoughts and ideals. When we enter the world of another being we must be willing to be a part of it all. When someone entrusts their heart to you they are giving you a piece of their soul. You cannot treat a soul casually. You must protect, nurture, and handle it with care. Our interactions with one another go far beyond the face, body, and hair. One other thing we must consider when we enter someone's heart, there is a heart and soul inside of us of which they will play a part.

Part 3

  • Car-pool. It’s common sense! Ask around the office for anyone who lives near you, and plan to car-pool. You both save, and you’ll probably enjoy the trip to work more! And have your kids car-pool with friends for school and activities.
  • Map your route. Think ahead, and map out the shortest route to your destination(s). Use GPSor other mapping software. This could result in huge savings. Many of us think we know the shortest way to even common destinations, but check it out and make sure!
  • Use cruise control when you are on the highway. This will keep your engine running at a consistent workload, which will reduce wasted fuel due to random acceleration and braking. And set the speed lower than you usually do.You’ll see the savings in your gas mileage immediately.
  • Change your oil on a regular basis. When you keep the oil in your car clean you reduce the wear that is caused by friction in the moving parts of your car’s engine.
  • Replace the air filter in your car. Studies at Fuel Economy suggest replacing the air filter in your car on a regular basis. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve the mileage that you get with your car by up to 10 percent.
  • Turn off the Air Conditioning. Air Conditioning is great in the hot summer months, but only use it when you really need to and just use the blowers the rest of the time. At high speeds, keep your windows closed to reduce aerodynamic drag; opening the windows when driving at low speeds can increase fuel efficiency. Running the air conditioning when you don't need it will waste a lot of fuel.

Part 2 Tips To Help You Get The Most Out Of The Gas $$$ You Spend & Get Your Gas For FREE!

When fuel prices were low, we never stopped to think how much we were driving, why we were driving, or how we were driving. But now we must make the most out of every gallon of gas we consume. Start by slowly implementing one or two of these money saving tips and before long you’ll see savings at the pump! Now is the time for you and your entire family to sit down and consider what travel and commutes are essential, and
which can be consolidated or avoided entirely.

    22 Tips To Remember

    • Keep your tires properly inflated. This will allow your car to minimize resistance as it moves across the streets and roads, which will ultimately improve fuel mileage as you travel. Check them the 1st day of every month.
    • Take good care of your engine. If your engine is in good shape and well lubricated, it will have less friction, which will help improve gas mileage on both short and long trips.
    • Buy your gas in the morning or evening. Gasoline becomes denser in colder temperatures. This means that if you fill up your gas tank in the cooler morning or evening hours, that you’ll be getting better gas price economy.
    • Slow down. When you are driving on a highway, the faster you go, the less fuel-efficient you will be. One of the best ways to improve gas mileage is to drive close to 55 on the highways and close to 20 in town, whenever possible.
    • Avoid unnecessary speeding up and braking. Start out slower. What’s the hurry? See the light changing to red up ahead? Take your foot off the gas and coast to a stop. Unnecessary speeding up and braking wastes fuel, so a good way to get better fuel efficiency is to avoid stop and go traffic if possible.
    • Try to avoid stop and go traffic. We can use more gas in stop and go traffic than in any other travel conditions. Perhaps there is another route you can take. Of perhaps you can schedule your trip to non-peak travel times.

      Part 4

      •
      •
      • Use high quality engine oil. This is one of many important ways to improve gas mileage because it allows your engine to run more efficiently. The smoother your engine runs, the better mileage you will get. Good engine oil is good for your engine, and can prolong the life of your vehicle. To select a high quality engine oil, be sure to look for products that are approved by the API (American Petroleum Institute) and say “energy conserving” on the API label.
      • Consider a fuel additive or fuel reformulator. This is added to the gasoline in your tank and helps your vehicle use more of each gallon of gas your put into the tank. This can significantly improve fuel mileage at a relatively low cost, particularly when compared to fuel prices.
      • When you are filling up your gas tank, resist the temptation to ‘top off’ the tank. Rather than help improve fuel mileage directly, this simply saves you from wasting gas. Gasoline is like any other liquid, and thus subject to changes in temperature. If the temperature rises, the gasoline may expand and overflow, thus wasting the gas instead of allowing it to fuel your vehicle.
      • Avoid excess idling. You will save significant amounts of fuel over time if you don’t let it idle while waiting in line through a drive-thru or while waiting to pick someone up. Excessive idling can add to your fuel costs by as much as 50%.
      • Drive less by consolidating destinations. One excellent way to improve gas mileage is to combine your tasks into a smaller number of trips. For instance, less trips to the grocery store by planning ahead is one of the easiest ways to increase gas mileage.
      • Park your car in a garage when possible. By keeping your vehicle away from extreme temperatures, you reduce the amount of fuel needed to balance out the temperature when it comes time to drive. A garage keeps it cooler in summer and warmer in winter, saving more fuel for driving rather than temperature control.
      • When it comes time to replace your tires, consider buying low rolling resistance tires. These are designed specifically to waste less energy in the way the rubber meets the pavement. They allow you to go further with less resistance, ultimately improving the use of gasoline and increasing your gas mileage. Read the National Transportation Safety Board 178-page report regarding TIRES and
Passenger Vehicle Fuel Economy before buying new tires.
      • When you are driving an automatic transmission, use your overdrive gears (1 and 2 on the shifting bar) whenever possible and practical to do so. Going up a hill, shift down into a lower gear for more torque, but shift to a higher gear for normal elevations. These gears slow down the speed of the car’s engine, thus burning less fuel and running more gently on the engine itself.
      • Practice careful motorway driving. It will improve safety and reduce the amount of fuel needed. When you see a car brake up ahead, simply take your foot off the accelerator. By the time you get close to the car in front the chances are that they will have speeded up.Yes, it’s just common sense. And conserving fuel is not only good for you… it’s good for all of us.!

        Save On Your Gas!!!

Increasing your car’s gas mileage is providing you with
This FREE Report that gives you the tips that could do that!

        Part 1

The only way to know if you have increased your car’s gas mileage efficiency is to keep a written record of the miles driven and the gas consumed. Many late model cars have computers that allow you to see average and running mileage. What you need to know is what you are averaging now, and what you are averaging by using the tips provided. Here is how to determine you car’s gas consumption, per mile:
Fill you car’s tank in the late afternoon or early morning. In a log, write down which station and pump you used, and the direction you car is facing. Fill you car to the brim (until the pump automatically cuts off). Write down the mileage showing on your car. Drive a minimum of 150 miles, driving as you normally do. Go back to the same station, the same pump, facing the same direction, and fill up again. Subtract the old mileage from the new, and divide the number of gallons you just bought into the miles you have driven. This will give you the average. This is the number we want to help you improve on ....while driving the same car, but with some big differences! Mostly, reducing fuel costs is just a shift in mind set – from buying fuel to managing it. It’s also about dropping bad habits and becoming more conscious of fuel use.

If there is one major thing I can recommend, it’s that....SLOWING DOWN SAVES GAS, and it SAVES LIVES. So SLOW DOWN! Speeding is not only dangerous, it wastes fuel and creates higher levels of toxic emissions. Decrease your interstate speed form 70 mph to 60 mph.Yes, it might take you an extra 10 minutes to travel 70 miles, but look at the decrease in traffic accidents and deaths, and the fuel savings. You’ll arrive more rested and will enjoy the trip more.

Hmmm! Can I?.... Do I?.... Will I?.... Does my ego really want to?...

Exploring the question brings more wisdom than having the answer.
        -A Course in Miracles

Can I.......continue to live in lack and limitation, denying myself the abundant goodness of the world? Or, can I make a plan, follow a dream, do what I can, where I am, with what I have?
        Can I?..... Can I?.....

Do I......see anything that needs to be done for me that I am not doing? Or, do I only see
what others could be doing and are not?
        Do I?..... Do I?....

Will I..... make it through the difficult times? Or, will I give up?

        Will I?... Will I?....

Can I....... continue to buy into the belief that there is not enough, I am not enough, settling for whatever I can get? Or, can I do my best in every situation, expecting the best from every situation, recognizing that what I put out must come back to me tenfold?
        Can I?.... Can I?.....

Do I....... support myself by nurturing myself, accepting what I feel and letting my needs be known? Or, do I shrink under criticism, blame others for my conditions and look for the easy way out?
        Do I?..... Do I?......

Will I..... get up this morning with a positive attitude, greet everyone with a smile and be glad to be alive? Or, will I take a bad attitude into the world and have everyone wish I were not?
        Will I?..... Will I?....

Can I....... continue to live in fear, complaining about what I do not have, cannot do, criticizing myself and others? Or, can I take a chance, find an opportunity and know in my heart what I want to do is possible?
        Can I?..... Can I?....

Do I....... recognize my truth and speak it when I feel the need? Or, do I allow fear and people pleasing to silence me?
        Do I?..... Do I?.....

Will I....... accept the people I encounter today for who they are and encourage them to become part of the group? Or, will I seek out the people I feel are superior to the rest and alienate myself from those I judge beneath me?
        Will I?.... Will I?

        Can I......
blame the world, hate my enemy, feel sorry for myself as an excuse not to do what I desire to do? Or, can I raise my consciousness, pour love into every situation and take responsibility for myself?
Can I?..... Can I?..... Can You?

I am responsible for doing all I can..... do

Do I....... continue to do the things I know are not good for me and do not bring me what I want? Or, do I examine myself, correct myself, accept myself but commit to get better and do better?
        Do I?..... Do I?
        ......

Will I....... do my part and give of myself to create my own independence? Or, will I accept the crumbs that keep me dependent on people, conditions, and situations?
        Will I?..... Will I?.....

Do I..... know what I want, believe I can have it, do everything in my power to bring it about? Or, do I accept what others tell me about my limitations and limit myself to what they believe?
        Do I?..... Do I?.....

Will I....... trust myself and follow my first thought? Or, will I look for others to validate me?
Will I?...... Will I?...... Will You?

Today, I will love me, know me, honor me, support me, and trust me...

Do I....... have faith in spirit, faith in myself, faith in things unseen?
Do I?..... Do I?..... Do You?

        I am...

Everyone is Meant to Be Abundant

Have you ever wondered why some people just seem to be born with a lucky streak? Everything they do seems effortless and they seem to always be in the right place at the right time. Or you may know someone who has a knack for growing money somehow. They just seem to have the King Midas touch. And then, do you begin to wonder why they seem to get it all and you have to work hard in order to have what you have — and even then it doesn’t feel as if you are making ends meet? Well we’re going to break the code for you so that you can share in the abundance of life and continually experience that lucky streak for yourself.
Let’s start here. The world we live in is full of abundance. All you have to do is look around at nature. There is an abundance of birds, trees, animals, grass, sky, clouds, and anything else you may look at in nature. Sure, there may be a few extinct animals and plants along the way but that is part of a cycle of this physical world. It is changing and therefore things change, but somewhere in the world there is always abundance somewhere. This abundance was given to us as humans and where it gets a bit tricky is when we begin noticing only the lack of what is in this world.
Here’s an example: The news tells you that there is a lack in the world right at this very moment in the economy. They let you know how truly hard it is going to get and show you pictures of some of the people it is affecting. You see it, you recognize the lack, and then you begin to focus on the lack over and over again. In the Law of Attraction, whenever you focus over and over again, you emit those thoughts and feelings of lack and the Universe provides you with a similar form of lack.
Now let’s say you tune in the ‘good’ news station (is there such a thing?) where all they talk about is how abundant life is. They let you know that a new species of animal has been found that no one ever knew about and that there are certain towns that are keeping a steady flow of abundance in their lives no matter what seems to be happening around them in the economy. If you watch the good news channel then you will experience the thoughts of abundance instead of a thought of lack.
As you can see what is around you and what you think about is what you tend to base your life on. Not only are there negative news stations, there are ‘lack’ people and situations that present themselves to you that may give you the perception of continued lack. Before this physical experience you came from an abundant world where every need was met through your own consciousness. And coming here to experience a physical life, the consciousness of abundance is still within you.
When you take a moment to feel and listen to the inner you, you will be able to feel that sense of security, peace, and abundance that is connected to everything in this world including abundance. As you begin to shift your focus from the lack mentality to the one of abundance you will find that life will begin to change. Instead of listening to the lack news station (logical mind), begin listening to the abundant news station (inner self) and you will start to experience a shift of thought. Search out what is abundant in your life and be grateful for what you have and then take it a step further and realize that we were intended to be abundant. Everything that is around you in this world can be abundant if you shift your mind to begin seeing abundance instead of lack. If you don’t have enough of something, visualize having more than enough of it and then start looking around you to see what else there is that is abundant.
All the abundance that you can find will give you the wonderful feeling of having more than enough and those feelings, mixed with your own abundant thoughts, will bring more abundance in to your life via the Law of Attraction. If your mind wanders and picks up how there is never enough, stop! Then shift your mind to what there is enough of. You can do this on the freeway while stuck in traffic. There’s an abundance of something for you… Cars! Keep shifting your mind to the life that you are intended to have; the life full of abundant positive things, people, and situations. You have it right now. It all lies right within you. It takes only you to change to a life of abundance. You deserve it, it is your divine right, and life is meant to be enjoyed… Abundantly!
