Woman as Goddess and Creatrix

THE FEMININE PRINCIPLE OR THE ESSENCE OF WOMAN

The Woman is, was, and always will be Goddess and Creatrix. The woman is the womb from which we sprang, the ground of our being. The woman is the source for all humans. The Goddess is both historical, psychological and primary. She has been a persistent symbol of divinity since the beginning of time, and remains a sacred presence in the timeless dimension of everyone's psyche. Even the womb of the woman is composed of the same substances as the fruit of the Earth.
The Woman is the feminized 'mother nature'. The Woman as Creatrix has a mysterious power over her offspring. Some psychologists have called it 'Weaned Worship'. It is an unquestionable fact that reverence for the Woman as a Creatrix, and all of the transition she goes through in the process of creating, is revered. Furthermore, as a creatrix, the Woman addresses the inescapable challenge to man to justify his existence. The mother gives birth to men out of her body ensuring that there is at least a definite and significant contribution that she can make on an ongoing basis throughout most of her life.

Men respond to this challenge by simulating creation by making objects and inventing artifacts. If this is not monitored accordingly, they can wage a war between Creatrix and Creator (female and male) which is very much present today. Many psychologists have stated that much of the meaning men attribute to their work is a response to the challenge of women's capacity to give life and to sustain that life completely through natural means.
